The Palma Ceia Swim Team finished third at the PCL Relay Meet
held this past Saturday at the Tampa Yacht Club narrowly missing
out on a second place finish to our good friends at TYCC.
With an unusual number of DQ’s, the team fell short of
its goal of winning the event but is looking forward to bouncing
back at this weekend’s Dick Smith Invitational.
Our 11 & 12 Girls (Sarah Rossi, Martha Pointer, Samantha
Scott, Danielle Scott and Jackie Hanlon) were outstanding as usual
winning 4 events. Our 8 & Under Girls (Katie Taulbee,
Elly Frierson, Abby Griewe, Caroline Rossi, Madison Troy and
Lindsay Ayers) also shined on this beautiful sunny day by winning 3
events and placing 2nd in two others.
The 8 & Under Boys (Evan Passath, John Pointer, Andrew
Kynes, Jackson Hacker and Robbie Shaffer) had one 1st place finish
and two 2nd place finishes. Our 11 & 12 Boys (Byrne
Litschgi, Tommy Shaffer, Cameron Davidson, Austin Gage and Kevin
Allman) also swam well winning 1 event and finishing 2nd in three
others.
We hope to have everyone back at the pool this week for a full
week of practices so that we can work on improving some of the
finer points in preparation for the Dick Smith Invitational.
Our swimmers cannot improve if they are not practicing so
let’s have a great turnout this week for practices.
